The original project from the past summer co-op placement was to review the news guide and the alternative news guides to ensure links were accurate and include news sources since the last update (e.g. Vancouver Sun on digital microfilm, etc.). I was able to complete the review and update of the News guide, but the Alternative News Guide page still required updating.
In this continuation of the news guides project, I completed an annotated duplicate of the existing Alternative News guide page. After review with my project manager and the e-branch, I proceeded with an update of the web interface of the Alternative News guide page based on a review of the annotated duplicate page, which can now be viewed here.
This project allowed me to work on my collaboration and teamwork skills working with content managers with diverse perspectives (subject liaison librarian and the e-branch). I also improved my skills using the Drupal content management system, as well as using data analytics to inform my revision decisions.
