Creating Video Tutorials

This video project for the Public Knowledge Project, or PKP, involved creating two video tutorials for an online course on policies for library publishing.

Above is a screenshot of one of the tutorials I worked on, which you can watch on PKP's YouTube channel.

The process:

  1. Meeting with the project lead
  2. Creating an outline for the video on Microsoft PowerPoint
  3. Writing a script for each slide based on notes from PKP modules
  4. Getting the completed slides approved
  5. Recording and editing narration for each slide
  6. Importing recordings and matching timing for each slide
  7. Exporting all files as a video to upload onto the YouTube channel

I'm grateful to have been a part of a PKP project and create videos for their YouTube channel. This opportunity gave me a chance to improve my PowerPoint presentation, narration, and video editing skills, as well as see my work become a valuable part of their education program.
