About
CURRENT ROLE
I am situated as an uninvited guest on the unceded and stolen lands of the Syilx Okanagan Peoples. Currently, I am the Southern Medical Program Librarian at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.
My roles include research support in the disciplines of Health and Exercise Sciences and Medicine (including support or co-authorship of systematic and scoping reviews), teaching workshops in academic, hospital, and research settings with an emphasis on evidence based practice, and supporting aspects of the medical program such as tutoring Case-based Learning (CBL) and holding consultations for Flexible and Enhanced Learning (FLEX). I liaise with the medical program librarians at the Vancouver, Northern, and Island campuses, as well as librarians within the Interior Health Authority (IHA).
PAST EXPERIENCE
I began my Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) journey in the Fall of 2019. Coming from a background in education with an interest in academic and medical librarianship, I was thrilled to be part of the UBC iSchool Class of 2022. During my program, I worked at SFU Libraries and the BC Electronic Library Network (BC ELN) and Electronic Health Library of BC (eHLbc).
I was also part of Cohort 4 in the UBC Design for People (DFP) program, during which I worked with an interdisciplinary team including members in the Faculty of Computer Science. My bio for this experience can be read here and a video of our work can be viewed below.

Aside from my academic work, I was an organizing member of IDEAS@UBC (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Safe Space), in which I participated in executive meetings and assisted with planning and execution of events. I also co-ran and designed our website using the WordPress CMS.
I have a personal passion for social justice and accessible User Experience (UX) Design, and have worked as the Partnership Director for the UBC UX Hub during the 2020-2021 term. I developed my skills in using the Figma platform to create low-to-medium fidelity prototypes and have utilized these skills in coursework, such as FNEL 448K, Technologies for Endangered Language Documentation and Revitalization.
I have self-illustrated much of the artwork in this online portfolio, as art is a hobby of mine.
